New York underwater

“Inspired by issues relating to climate change, DUMBO Underwater imagines what it might feel like if sea levels rose to the point where parts of New York City found themselves underwater.” By Eric Corriel

Power

“An excavation, gigatons in motion. In the extraterrestrial view magnetic field resonances mix up with power line frequencies. A planet is examined, microscopically, zoomed in from afar. Dimensions without scale. Energy harvest permanently. The earth, a megalopolis is making megawatt.” By F. Forberg.

Low frequencies – turn volume done on portable devices.

Topologies (Excerpt)

“Topologies is a new instalment of the ongoing Strata Series. Differently from the previous Strata pieces, Topologies does not describe a process of transformation, rather it focuses into the observation of objects that are already fully transformed. The subjects of these new pieces are two iconic paintings from the Prado Museum’s collection: “Las Meninas” of Velazquez and “L’ Immacolata Concezione” of Tiepolo. Following the rules behind their visual composition and colours, the two masterpieces have been transformed into digital fabrications through the use of custom software. Topologies consist in the exploration of the digital objects created by this transformation process. The outcome is not a narrative film but rather separate objects of contemplation… Literally “digital paintings”.” – Quayola, Vimeo.

Jim Kazanjian: Composite Photographs

“Portland artist Jim Kazanjian‘s body of work consists of crisply composed digital images that explore the surrealist side of space and architecture. drawing from literary influences such as h.p. lovecraft and algernon blackwood, kazanjian’s pictorials illustrate a fantasy-driven world that seemingly celebrates relics and decay.” Weiterlesen bei Designboom
